I am having problems with my cat using the litter box...we had to have her de-clawed because she was tearing up my husband´s face and body...basically shredding his skin LOL.... Anywas...she hasn´t wanted to use the litter pan since she was de-clawed...I think she associates the litter box with the pain when she was recovering!
Is there a way to re-train her?

Perhaps her paws are still too sore to dig in the litter tray. One of my cats will use tray lined with just newspaper.

Unfortunately litterbox aversion is one of the most common problems in cats that have been declawed. Oldwoman is right - give her something softer for her feet than litter. Newspaper or shredded paper might work to start with. You can gradually add a thin layer of litter to it in a week or two once her paws have started to heal, then keep replacing the paper with litter until you can leave the paper out altogether.

You might also want to ask your vet for something to give her for pain. Whether or not she´s showing it, she´s bound to still be having pain and if she associates that with digging in her litter tray, it could put her off using her litterbox for good. You might have to insist. Many vets don´t think analgesics are necessary after the first day or two, but it´s hard to imagine that humans wouldn´t expect pain medication for several weeks after an amputation.

How long ago was her declawing? You will want to nip this behavior in the bud before it gets out of control.

What would you suggest?

She was declawed when she was a year old...she is 3 years old now and refuses to use the litter box...thus we clean kitty trails and piles everyday several times a day and I have even put her and the litter pan in a large very large dog crate and she still refuses to use the litter pan...she will do her business right in front of the pan on the crate floor...like she is doing just to show me she wil NOT use that pan!...I am at my wits end and my husband is about to go crazy because she hates him and targets his clothes and belongings if you know what I mean! lol! He won´t make me get rid of her though because I I love her so much!

I am sure you ascribe your cat emotions she cannot possibly have. I feel absolutely certain, that she is not trying to spite you but is having a genuine problem with the litter tray. She sounds confused and quite possibly suffering from something. Cats are naturally clean and this sort of behaviour is not normal or deliberate. Have you tried to allow her to choose her own place and type of tioletting? I mean have you tried say sawdust, wood shavings, fine sand or shredded paper? Also I would try to locate the litter tray somewhere different and use a completely new litter tray, just to sever any past associations with tioletting.

I am sure your cat does not hate your husband, more likely the opposite, she is trying to seek comfort in his belongings. Please be patient and gentle with your kitty.

you might try getting a new litter box and a fine ( I use arm and hammer super scoop ) litter. Then the next time you pick up poo put it in the litter box and only lighty cover it up then show it to her. Annie and Moo Moo started going potty behind the couch and after I cleaned it up I used Hartz pet stain and odor remover. Then a short time later I sprayed the whole area with Hartz stay off traing aid ( I got them both at wal mart) and I havent had any problems since! Good Luck and keep us posted!

Rest assured...I am nothing but patient and gentle with Lilie...she is my world...I won´t let anyone scold her or anything like that...she is my princess and she knows it!
I will try sand...I never thought of that...she may like it better! Thank you for the advice! And I will keep you posted!

for something softer for your kitty until she is ready to do the litter you could try those puppy pee training pads, you should be able to get them in a pet supply store like petco or something like that and lay one in the litter box it might work, it is a suggestion but.... I hope your kitty is ok .
