About me
I was born on a big farm in the Dandenong Ranges. My cat mother was from Egypt and I had lots of brothers and sisters. When I was 6 weeks old, my human owner had visitors - a wonderful little girl named Trudi. I was part of a huge family - over 50 other cats. There was an instant connection between Trudi and I. I followed her around all day - so naturally, she took me home. My sister Geraldine also joined my mum and I at my new home a week later.
My life was wonderful. I was the apple of my new mum´s eye. She played with me every chance she had. I was truly loved, and in return, my mum was loved back.
I was the most placid of cats. My mum used to sit me on her shoulders and I used to love going for a ride - I kept her neck nice and warm, like a scarf.
I was well liked by all the other animals. And there were a lot of animals at my new home including 3 other cats, 3 dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, a horse, budgies, a cockie ... like I said, heaps of animals. Everyone ´loved´ me and I ´loved´ everyone!
When kids would come around to visit, nothing would phase me. They could try and annoy me and I would just look at them and smile.
I loved my food and I loved my sleep, but no matter what I was doing, as soon as my mum called my name, I ran to her in a flash. I loved the way my mum used to hug me, pat me, wear me as a scarf and pay me all the attention in the world.
I don´t have to miss the way my mum loved me, because I know she still does.
When I was 15 years old, my mum gave me breakfast early in the morning. Mum used to say I ate to quickly! Well this particular morning, I did eat my breakfast too fast. I had a heart attack.
My mum saw me and she came running over to me as fast as she could, dropped to her knees and picked me up, screaming and crying all the time.
She gently stroked my head as she held me in her arms, my body limp but my heart still beating. I was looking into my mum´s eyes when I left this world. I will never forget the look of sadness and disbelief in her eyes - but I am glad that my mum´s face was the last thing I saw.
I crossed over the rainbow and I heard my mum say that my eyes went foggy before I left her. I watched my mum cry for 2 weeks non stop. The calendar in her old bedroom is still on the date I left this world, Friday, 5th February, 1999 at 8:15am. My sister Geraldine got cancer shortly after I departed. Geraldine joined me across the rainbow on 11th June that same year.
I miss my mum sooo much as I know she misses me, but I know I will see her again some day. ![]()

What makes me special
I was unique, the most placid, most loyal, most gentlest cat that you would ever see. And what makes me most special is how much I was loved.
